Sherrie Walker Burton
I have been married to my college sweetheart for almost 39 years (Mark Burton for Sugar City, Idaho). After college, he was a geologist and we moved to Wyoming back in ’73. We owned retail stores (Work clothing, work boots and etc.)for almost 20 years but sold them 3 years ago and retired.
We have 6 children and 16 grandchildren. This picture is from a year and a half ago and so is a bit dated, including the addition of 3 more grandchildren. It is hard to get everyone together for a family picture. Three of our children and 12 grandchildren have returned to live in Casper with their families. (Love it! Weekly, Sunday night diners are wild!) One daughter, her husband and 2 daughters live in Las Vegas, one daughter lives in Denver and one son and his wife and baby are in Rexburg, Idaho.
We keep busy with our family, and church callings (my husband has been Bishop for 5 ½ years, I have the Activity Day Girls which includes 2 of our granddaughters, and love it!) We divide our time between our home in Casper, Wyoming and our retreat, an old Homestead property, a couple of hours from town with 240 acres, near the river and reservoir. It has a large old cabin, creek, pond, canyons and no one else around! (My husband’s idea of Heaven.) It sounds primitive, but has character with all the conveniences of home.
It had been a good life and although I look back fondly at my days at Orem high School, I wouldn’t want to go back! I hope to see a lot of you at the reunion!
