Orem High School - Class of 1970

Mary Marchbanks

Mary (I've dropped the Lou for maturity's sake). Sept. 2004 age 53

So, where have I been? I fell in love too young and left Orem High early to marry..of course they made us then. I finished up my diploma at night school and Trade Tech..and even went to BYU a bit..but ..alas..no degree. I divorced after 3 kids and 15 years and moved to Denver in 1984 to take a great job as a sales manager for a modem manufacturer ... high tech sales has paid the bills ever since and provides me with lots of travel opportunities, so I get to Denver and Orem quite often for work and to see family.

I met a wonderful Texan who wouldn't leave Texas (which is the norm), so my two sons and I have lived in Dallas ever since. Mike Cox and I have been married 15 yrs in July. My daughter was newly married and stayed in Denver and has a wonderful 8 yr. old son. My sons and their families (5 grandchildren under 6) live nearby, so it's quite busy at our house.

My first and only reunion was the last one (#30) and I had such a great time getting reacquainted with everyone. I truly can't believe that group of Sr. Citizens is US! I hope to attend #35. It's scheduled the same weekend that my husband turns 50 (that's right..younger man..heehee) and the gathering of mass quantity BLACK BALLOONS might interfere with my traveling plans..but I'm working on it.

Mike and Mary- Aug. 2004 at the Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, SD. I'm not a good passenger (bad back seat driver) so I've been riding my own Harley since 1993..just before I went sky diving. Hmm..might be mid life crisis...

The Family in Breckenridge, CO for Thanksgiving 2004. It's really hard to keep everyone focused long enough for a good picture..that would be me with the red hat..not paying attention to the camera...but it's the best one of everyone else. Daughter Heather's family to my right, youngest son Matt's above me and their kids in green and yellow, and my oldest son Aaron's to my left.
